Last night I received a letter from our insurance company letting us know that we opened an on-line account to access vital personal information. We did not open this account. It provided the user name that was established. We tried unsuccessfully to log on. We contacted customer support. My husband’s ex-wife had created the account approx. 3 weeks ago. She accessed our information. She impersonated my husband to create the account by using his name, SSN, DOB and checked the box that she was him. Then she put her email address as the registered email addy.
She had full access to view all benefits used for the last year. Doctor visits, labs, procedures etc.

Is this some sort of privacy violation? Since she was never on this policy. The secret questions to try and obtain the password pertained to the kind of car she drives and her birthplace. Anyone out there know what this violates?

Seeing as we’re in the mood to be gracious … how about amnesty for crimes such as tresspassing or breaking and entering or identity theft. Who needs laws anyways .. we’ll just obey the ones that are convenient for us.

How about medical bills we owe, maybe we should forget about health insurance altogether, this is a rich country someone will pick up the tab somewhere.

Why should the gravy train stop there? Maybe the IRS would like to forgive us all our back taxes, or maybe even refund us what we paid last year …. certainly they’d never miss it.

The list goes on and on, but lastly what about those who stood their time in line, paid their fees, filled out all the forms, and submitted themselves to the lengthy immigration process just to be here. I guess there’s a sucker born every minute huh?

Maybe the government can even set up a program to loan illegals $5000, with convenient repayment terms.

Think about it!!!
Another thought … one of the first orders of business should be to issue lay off notices to all of those annoying border patrol people and customs agents at land, sea and air crossings. The idea of enforcing borders is pure avarice in any case and the cost savings could be used for more social programs or perhaps a public education campaign to sensitize the American people on issues and concerns relevant to the average illegal immigrant and how we can all work together to adjust ourselves to their cultural preferences.
For those of you who think this is a racial/nationality issue, get over yourselves. No particular race/nationality was mentioned in this question. I too am an immigrant, but one who respects the law and this country enough to fill out the paperwork, pay the fees and wait in line.

Is there some kind of insurance you can pay for every month, so when and if you need a lawyer, you can get one, like people pay health insurance in case they get sick? I never even considered ever needing a lawyer before, but that was before I got into a really bad situation. I don’t want this to ever happen to me again, and I want to be safe rather than sorry. If I have to pay $100 a month, it’s better than thousands of dollars all at once. So, does this type of insurance exist? And if not, is there a similar system, such as keeping a lawyer on “retainer”? Thanks.

A couple months ago, while in an airport, I had to create an account to pay for wireless internet. A few weeks later I started receiving emails from Wells Fargo, and I ignored them thinking that they were advertisements due to my creating an account with them at the airport. Then I received an email from WF with someone else’s name on it, and I asked to be taken off their mailing list. Then, I received another email with no name telling me that I was overdrawn on some account. At this point I called them, and they verified that I don′t have an account with them, and it seemed that somehow they were sending me someone else’s emails. All of my actual bank accounts were as they should be.

Today I received a letter from a life insurance company regarding a policy I have. However, I don′t have any life insurance with anybody. I used to contribute when I had a different job, but I cancelled the policy when I left the job. That was 3 years ago. I tried calling the number on the letter, but the office isn′t open until Monday.

I’m wondering if these two events might be connected and if it could be a sign of identity theft. If so, what do I need to do? Who would I report it to?

Like if my car insurance company tells me that when driving other peoples cars, I have basic legal cover

Is this any different than third party cover? Like say I’m driving someone elses car how much am I covered

With my insurance it doesnt need to be an emergency for me to be covered driving someone elses car, just wondering how much I’m covered

Because I was told that that level of cover is less than third party cover

Thanks
